چکیده
Abstract Background Esthetic dental restorations have gained increasing popularity. The surface of should be smooth enough to achieve maximum esthetics and prevent the adhesion microorganisms food particles. This study aimed assess roughness color change composite specimens following airflow usage. Methods In this in vitro, experimental study, 30 Tokuyama discs were fabricated randomly divided into three groups (n = 10) for use with calcium carbonate/bicarbonate powder conventional polishing FlexiDisc. was measured by profilometry while assessed measuring L*, a* b* parameters using spectrophotometry before (T1). then polished stain removal, their as well remeasured after (T2). Paired t-test Tukey’s test applied within-group between-group comparisons. Results Significant differences noted average (Ra) between carbonate (0.251 ± 0.014 ?m) sodium bicarbonate (0.421 0.208 ?m), FlexiDisc (0.207 0.076 ( P < 0.05). Regarding correlation at T1 T2, an inverse all except L*. other words, reduction decreased parameters. Conclusions Within limitations results showed that device used had no significant difference terms staining. Considering cost maintenance device, it is not suggested a suitable alternative procedures. Trial Registration Number : does involve human subjects.

Surface roughness and color change of a composite: influence of beverages and brushing.
This study evaluated the influence of beverages and brushing on the surface roughness(SR) and color change(∆E) of a composite resin. For this, 120-disks(10 mm×2 mm) of composite resin(Filtek-Z250) were prepared and polished. Initials SR(Ra-μm) and color(CIELab-system) were measured with rugosimeter and spectrophotometer; specimens were divided into four groups(red wine, soft drink, sugar cane sp...

This in vitro study evaluated the color stability, gloss, and surface roughness (Ra) of four indirect composites. Enamel and dentin shades of Radica, Sculpture Plus, Belleglass-NG, and Gradia Indirect were evaluated for color stability. Specimens were stored in a staining solution (coffee) and assessed every 3 days for a period of 21 days, after which color difference (∆E*) was calculated. Only...
متن کاملEffect of In-Office Bleaching on Color and Surface Roughness of Composite Restoratives
OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to determine color changes and surface roughness of composites when they were subjected to in-office bleaching. METHODS 12 discs 15 mm in diameter and 2 mm thick were prepared from two shades (A2 & A4) of two composites, Durafil VS (DF) and TPH3 (TPH). Specimens were polished and stored in distilled water for 24 hours at 37 degrees C before being subje...

Objectives. To evaluate the polishing procedures effect on color stability and surface roughness of composite resins. Methods. Specimens were distributed into 6 groups: G1: Filtek Supreme XT + PoGo; G2: Filtek Supreme XT + Sof-Lex; G3: Filtek Supreme XT + no polishing; G4: Amelogen + PoGo; G5: Amelogen + Sof-Lex.; G6: Amelogen + no polishing. Initial color values were evaluated using the CIELab...
متن کاملInvestigation of surface roughness of composite fillings.
Various grinders (diamond and carbide burs, and soflex disks) were used in polishing the composite filling surfaces. Polishing was carried out 10 minutes and 14 days after the material polymerization. The ground surface was then observed by a scanning electron microscope and the surface roughness expressed in [xm. Better surface polish and lower de gree of roughness were observed when polishin...
